Alexanne Dunn

Alexanne Dunn's work is rooted in an approach to the territory that pores over the question of belonging. Maintaining an ambiguous relationship with the mining territories of her hometown, she transposes into her paintings her questions about her relationship and her perception of these fallen industrial landscapes. Developing colour and shape that are codes specific to her subjects, the artist proposes an exploration of the pictorial medium that affects and questions our perception of landscape.

Hailing from Thetford Mines, Alexanne Dunn lives and works in the city of Québec. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University and a Master's degree in Visual Arts from Université Laval. Her work has been exhibited at various art events and shows in Quebec City, Lac-Etchemin, Montreal as well as Rouyn-Noranda. Her works are part of the collection of the Quebec City, Méduse Collection and many private collections.
